My Piano Lesson

I am excited, Mum has arranged for me to have piano lessons. For the past few years Imogen has been teaching me. She is a good teacher, but being taught by your sister is not the same as having a professional  teacher.

Imogen, Charlotte and I troop up to the front door. I am ready to impress my new teacher. Our teacher opens the door smiling. She is a kind woman and she says that I can have the first lesson.

I am a bit nervous. Will I be good enough? Have I practised enough? All these thoughts run through my head as I enter the music room.

I have only ever played on an upright piano, but my teacher has a grand one. I wonder what it will be like to play on one.

The teacher asks me what scales I can play and soon I am enjoying myself, showing my teacher what I have learnt and what I am learning.

She patiently listens to what I play and fixes up the mistakes. She starts to make things more fun and exciting than I ever thought possible and I listen all ears and try to do as she says.

All too soon my lesson is over. It is Charlotte's turn to be taught. I start picking up my books and folder. My teacher picks up a chocolate and hands it to me. I cannot believe it, nor can Imogen and Charlotte. In all the years that they had been having piano lessons, they never got chocolates. I feel very happy and special.

Piano is more fun than work now. I can't wait for my next lesson.

Running and Breakfast

The car stopped. We all hopped out. All eight of us. We were all going for a run around the lake. It was only about seven in the morning. The perfect time for a run.

We all put our bottles down on the table and took off our jackets. We would not need them. Then we all took to the path.

We ran off, around the ladies running up and down and doing stretches.

I was happy. Normally it is just Imogen, Mum, Charlotte, Gemma-Rose, me and sometimes Dad in the holidays, running around the field at the end of our road. But not today. Mum had arranged for us to have a big breakfast down at the lake after a run.

Callum said he would come too and Duncan decided to come for a walk, but soon Gemma-Rose got him running.

One, two three... the laps were just whizzing by, I was on a roll. I did not want to ever stop, but by ten laps I was getting a bit tired. I decided it was time to finish. Ten laps is a long way, about 5.25 kms.

Everyone else had the same idea and soon we were all tucking into coco pops, crumpets and yoghurt. It was the best breakfast ever and I felt like I had earnt it after all that running.

Everyone was laughing and talking. I smiled. I was so happy I could run another ten laps. Maybe not. Anyhow I had a crumpet to finish.

Do you like running? I think that having an early run is a wonderful way to start a day.

The Most Loyal and Trustworthy Dog Ever

I got a really nice Zhuzhu puppy for Christmas.

He is better than all other dogs. He runs around the floor and makes funny noises. None of his noises really sound like a dog's noise. Sometimes he sounds like an old car, at others he is a robot.

Denis always seems to complain when I turn him off. I don't think he wants to stop playing around and making strange noises, but everyone else in the house wants him to. He is a bit more than noisy.

One good thing about Denis is that he does not need feeding and will go days without attention and then when you want to play with him again he is willing to go have fun again.

More Maths Fun

Mum has found us a brand new site for Maths. It is called Kid's Math Games Online. On it you can watch videos, play games, take quizzes and even get pictures.

We soon found that the people who made that site made two others. They are the same except with different subjects. One is science and the other is English.

I liked the maths one best, though I am sure Charlotte would love the science one better. She loves chemistry, while I like maths.

Mum found some print off Sudoku puzzles and I spent all morning trying to work them out. I love Sudoku.

I made up my mind to see what else was on the site, so off I went to my computer. I lifted the lid and started to play online chess against the computer. I also looked at pictures and some other games for things like addition and money.

I had so much fun looking at Kid's Math Games Online. I love maths. Do you?

My Rosary Beads

When I was seven I had my First Holy Communion. My Godparents gave me a wonderful set of rosary beads. They are the nicest set I have ever seen.

A while ago I lost them. I was very upset when I went to find them and they were not in the drawer I had put them. Mum told me that they would turn up though.

It was only the other day when I was trying to find some batteries for Charlotte's watch that I found them. Somehow they had made it to the battery drawer without me knowing.

I was so happy. I wanted everyone to know all about me finding my rosary beads. I ran straight over to Charlotte shouting about my rosary beads. She seemed just as pleased as I was that I had found them. I think Charlotte is the best big sister ever. Even though they were not her rosary beads she was happy that they had been found.

Do you have a favourite set of rosary beads?

Edited Birds

I went on MorgueFile and found some nice bird pictures. Then I edited them on PicMonkey.

Which picture is your favourite? Mine is the second. It is so funny.
